We all should take the four 20hrs rules to heart…but don't forget to envelope them with the Pop songs 😉
10,000 hours…..??? Are ya freaking kidding me? I learned to gamble n gamble well in 2000 hours.. not bad eh
This is amazing, I used this method to play the piano.
what did this woman write !!!
While I wished this was true, this is literally the least scientific 'research' ever. He just tried a few basic things himself with no peer review on his methodology.. try learning a new completely new language or how to code – telling people 20 hours works is just setting them up for failure
I was a professional student for years and learned to either buy a used book with the proper highlighting…or find a copy of 'The Idiot's Guide to' which could explain Hamlet in 10 minutes. I know, that's not quality learning, but are we learning for enjoyment, or to pass that next examination?
What if I spend 20hr in a day, will I be good enough on acquiring a skill. Just asking or maybe I will try it!
Unos de los videos más interesantes y útiles que he visto en Ted. Muchas gracias Mr.
What a brilliant speech
The perfect guide for superficiality. Good enough for the mediocre high tech people. Enjoy!
pure awesome person
What I learned is: we need to be able to deconstruct the skill, and learn enough to self assess our progress eliminating diseraction while practice time, and put our 20 hours .This was so excellent.
I am learning a language and spent much more than 20 horus on it but I am still not confident enough to have a conversation with natives (and they probably won't understand me anyway) but maybe that's because I tried it in short units were spread over a long time.
Superb madam🤝
"The main barrier is not intellectual – it's emotional" was taken to heart. Thanks for the video
Right
1. Deconstruct the Skill.
2. Learn Enough to Self Construct
3. Remove Practice Barriers.
4. Practice at least 20 hours.
"10,000 hours" that's gotta be one of the worst ways they could've said that. Because reading that I don't think "I can manage that" I think "oh god that's gonna take forever"
They could've at least said "a little over a year"
I need this ukulele cover of the songs in a separate video 😀
17:25 When Pop Song is mixed with Indian tadka – Open Gangnam style 🤘
keren juga dengan 20 jam bisa paham fundamental
Changed my life! thx!!!

Hello, I am a chinese, where can I find some subtitle translation groups to join? Thanks.
From 10,000 overwhelming hours to 20 hours
"The main barrier is not intellectual — it's EMOTIONAL."
Four simple steps to rapid skill acquisition:
1. Deconstruct the skill;
2. Learn enough to self-correct;
3. Remove practice barriers;
4. Practice at least 20 hours.
Thanks for sharing. It's so useful for everyone.
No, the 10,000 hr rule did not become it take 10k to learn something…. where did you get that?
It's more like learning to show something, which gives the impression to the audience, that you learned on general purpose…
What a talk show !!!
THAT'S MOTIVATING ME TO KEEP LEARNING ENGLISH.
Thank you TEDX TALKS ♥️
