I like to think of alt coins as small cap stocks; seriously risky but they can be very lucrative if you trade them right.
1) Ignore success stories – don’t get caught up in looking what the founders have done before. You need to look at the coin from a more technical perspective.
2) Ignore tips – forget about the tips that are coming thru. You don’t want to get involved in anything that is being pumped out by tips; you need genuine demand.
3) Sell quickly – if you see big profits in a small amount of time, bank them!
4) Don’t get caught up with every announcement
5) Don’t go short – the risk:reward ratio is skewed against you.
6) Avoid very low volume coins less than $100k per day
7) Use mental stops – if you use hard stops you could get pinged out of your position at the worst possible time.
8) Don’t go in too large
9) Date don’t marry
