In this video, we’re going to be building a solar-powered cryptocurrency miner using a Raspberry Pi Zero W. Can we make a profit if we’re getting the electricity for free? We’re going to try out mining Monero using our Raspberry Pi and see how well the Pi does and how profitable it is.
Here’s my full written guide to building the miner –

What battery are you using
U could mine SiriCoin or verus on it. It would be more profitable on a pi
You can mine duino coin, a eco friendly coin that can be mined with esp8266, esp32, arduinos, raspberry pi… almost alll
Waiting for the update in 200+ years to see how it went 🙂
Hello! do you think its possible to made the same but for raspberry 4?
Nice.
its enough solar to power helium miner yes?
Thanks
I thought about doing this 12 hours ago and here is a video on it done already i was going to use the pi to run a usb bitcoin miner but the usb miner uses 2 watts alone
Great video, thanks! 'd love to see you build a solar rig for a pi 4 and a big spinning USB hard drive for sia hard drive mining which is vastly more energy efficient and more profitable currently.
kkkkkkkkkkkkk funy
Projects like this are fun and for enthusiasts only. Don't count on making living out of it. Building a miner like that will probably cost more then the miner will be able to earn back. I have seen videos where people claim they made money on micro computer mining, but that is just not true. Linus Tech tips, tested miners like that in big clusters, so YOU don't have to. The most fun to watch was a HDD cluster drive space miner. That monster made noise, and was power hungry like 1000ccm motorcycle and the amount of crypto it earned was worth a laugh. The HDD monster would cost a fortune to build for any regular user, and it only made 90 dollars worth of crypto, but at the same time added much more to the power bill, making it a total failure. It literally lost money instead of earning them.
use it to mining verus
I do the same with a Pi4/8Gb on a 100W panel with a 25ah battery i had no other use for anymore. I mine Monero it works greate so far but the charge controller will shut it down after 9h (winter sucks) i hope in summer it gets better
nice video but i have an important question for you…..how are u cooling it as cpu heats up also there id suns heat.so i dont think heat sinks any good???
this is genius…
половина цента в месяц. оно того стоило?
Would this be potentially profitable in proof of stake?
Anyone try this with a RPi Zero 2W and if so, does it give a better hash rate?
Hi, is profitable doing with a raspberry cluster ???
im gonna try this out as a learning experience project. i live in the tropics, we get sunshine almost 365 days a year
Mini solar cryptocurrency mining – how cool is that?? 😀👍
Maybe with MINA protocol that will be better… ?
its a great idea
Super interesting!!! Thanks for the video!!
Hello, good video, but I think it would be interesting if you could try mining through memory (crypton CRP) and using Docker containers to use the maximum instances that a Pi 4b 8gb can handle, I think it would cost you more than mining Monero
How about if we mine very cheap coins which have monetary values of about 0.00000000000001 USD etc these will have very low difficulty so maybe the hashrate will be high to mine at least several coins a day: when the crypto's price nears to 1 USD we might be in profit
Just thinking if the new RasPi Zero 2W will lessen the ROI for this project.
