1 1/2 cups full fat canned coconut milk
2 cups water

2. Rinse and drain the black rice 2-3 times. Add to a saucepan and stir on medium heat for about 2min

4. Bring to a boil stirring occasionally
5. When it comes to a boil, turn the heat down to medium. Then, stir every 10min or so for about 1 to 1.5 hrs. It is also possible that the pudding may reach your desired thickness in less time

When you add the coconut early and boil that long, do you find the coconut cream breaks and oil submerge and have that oily taste to it? I usually cook the rice first until they are ready then add coconut n sugar last, to avoid the cream breaks. So i hv been taught by my mum and her mum too i believe.
OH MY !!!! I just made this an OH MYYYYYY. It's amazing, it's delicious, it will definitely be a do-over. WOWWWWW.
Hi will, very nice and tasty recipe! In south of India too similar recipe is made they add jaggery instead of cane sugar. You could try that too. ☺️
Thank you Will another incredible recipe. Can I use brown rice to make thus healthier?

Is this black rice a kind of sticky rice? In my place there is both black and white sticky rice which often used to make dessert. But I have no idea about one that is used as staple food like white rice.
I cannot find the printed recipe. Please help.
Awesome 👍😎
Any chance that this could be made in an instant pot?
Wow!
The proof is not in the pudding, it's "The proof of the pudding is in the eating"
I like it hot…
Stunning! Fantastic! unbelievable ! I just prepared this delicious black rice pudding: I at it and I LOVE it! Even my cat loved it and cleaned my plate thoroughly ! Thank you very much again. I don't cook your recipes every day, but quite often: you are an amazing good cook. Thank you….keep following you. I am dutch, living in Barcelona, Spain.
AWESOME
I have to try this.
Such great and simple recipes. Can you refer me to the recipe in which you used zatar? Thank you.
Thank you for this. Please feature more gluten-free recipes.
Finally, you cook something without garlic and onion.
I'd tried this dessert before, you can actually put all ingredients in a Instant Pot /pressure cooker for 20 mins, it will come out exactly the same result, literally save you stirring it for an hour and half. Overall well done for demonstrating a beautiful dessert 🍨
It looks delicious. Thanks.
Awesome recipes. Yeung, do you have a recipe using soybean (not process on tofu etc)? Saludos ✌️
Hello Will ! Thank You for this 😋ne. Being originally from South America, I plan on following your instructions and subbing Taro with Yuca / Cassava.
It'll prob not turn out as sweet as with Taro, but will definitely be able to sweeten it with an additional measure of Cane Sugar.
Keep on keeping on !!

I have black rice that I bought when I was in Hawaii as it is the only place I seen it. Now I can use it. Did you mention a substitute for taro if I can't find it.
Hope you had a nice Canada Day.
2:30 I've always wondered why you don't just use a strainer
To get some of the ingredients is a real challange in Germany,, nevertheless I accept the challenge 😊 Its the first time I hear of Taro, it looks a little like a sweet potatoe. I am curious how it tastes.
yummy..❤❤❤
That looks like a great breakfast option.
