I gave spread betting a go years ago and had no clue what I was doing. I was attempting the short term day positions and didn’t lose any money but didn’t bank big profits either 🤷🏻♂️ I would happily give this strategy a go if you would create a step by step setup video guide, I’d feel more comfortable. With regards to leverage generally, it nearly always makes sense in my mind as long as you follow the crucial golden rule of never investing more than you can afford to lose 😌👏

I've traded CFDs but not spread betting, but as this is tax free it looks a lot better.
The dow was 800 in 1961 and 800 in 1981, while bond prices also tanked and gold was banned throughout this inflationary period. I guess that's the biggest danger. But you will also be paying interest offset by dividends on margin. Interesting stratergy guys. Did you know Bridgewater did a very similar levered strategy to become the biggest hedge fund on earth with its all weather portfolio?

Please urgently do a detailed video on the following lines. If you're willing, show the instruments in your spread betting portfolio (I think we had glimpses of them in this video). Then describe exactly what each one is, and the bet made on it, including direction- I assume in all cases you're betting the underlying asset will increase in price. Then, if possible, show with the account view open, exactly how to place one of you're suggested bets- it may be too late for this as you've already placed your bets. However, it may be possible to show the process up to the confirmatory stage. Only with this detail can your viewers (including myself) make an informed assessment of your strategy.

I too would love to see a guide, especially on the difference between £300 regular monthly investing in an ISA linked Index fund vs the spread betting approach. I spent almost 2yrs looking into day trading futures contracts (US Treasuries & E S&P) but 18 months ago I closed by Demo account because I realised day trading required a lot of discipline and a solid trading plan not to mention a large enough account balance (professionals don't often recommend anything under about £10K min otherwise you cannot handle the swings that can occur in a very short period of time, especially around US economic news releases plus you don't always win every trade so you need to be prepared to lose and trade another day. I have a fulltime job so I had to be realistic because I would be trading against very experienced professional people. I never knew trading futures as an investment as opposed to short term day trading was even an option…I'm excited.

thanks for the heads up. I was just looking for another way to invest. maxing out the isa and I have put as much into Crypto as I was comfortable. This could be another avenue for me. A proper guide would be appreciated. For example, do you keep adding to the position on a regular basis or wait for pullbacks only?

I like your vids fellas but I'd urge caution with what you're about to teach here despite the requests. A disclaimer at the start can keep you out of jail but that doesn't make it morally right if someone gets ruined. Leverage isn't funny when it goes wrong. I know you fellas aim to work to a plan, but as a well known boxer once said "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth".

I've just read 'Lifecycle investing' which from previous videos I understand has given you insight into using leverage. The book states leverage isn't advisable over a certain PE ratio, of which the S&P500 well overshoots.
Is the UK market not a better current target for leverage with its much lower PE ratio?
Or should this PE guidance be ignored somewhat? It does feel intuitive that if you are happy to be 100% equities you should be happy leveraging to 200% during younger years as per the Lifecycle plan.
I found the book quite confusing RE actually doing the investing – a guide would be very welcome!
