1. 1 dollar in 1965 is equal to about 10 dollars nowadays due to inflation and higher prices today. Mr. Rosling is not allowed to compare two so drastically different amounts of money because they are not valued equally !

   if the chart had no inflation checked it means, that today 50% of the population of the world is now in poverty.

   And this is something most people "feel". they get poorer and poorer over the years. compared to prices they have to pay /day.

12. The greatest ignorance of all is metaphor madness, believing a $100 bill is 100x a $1 bill. This is an ignorant lie. Humanity is deceived because we want to be deceived, believing the lies about hoaxes like the equality hoax. We are all unequal. 17. I read this professor's book Factfulness. I got to know him from there and came to see this video.
    Until now, I myself thought I knew about the view of information and the truth about the world.But the truth I was seeing was fiction. It was thanks to this video that I was able to notic this.

I scored 55% on the worldview quiz in their book 'Factfulness', but only because I had read a few months before Steven Pinker's book 'Enlightenment, Now' which contained a lot of information about the improvement in the human condition in recent times. If the 20 riches countries would contribute only <1% of their GDP toward poverty mitigation projects, we could end extreme poverty in the world by 2050 or before.

35. The extreme poverty statistic is dangerously inaccurate; it comes from the World Bank, whose notions of what constitutes extreme poverty is extremely misleading. Let's not trust the banks on poverty!

39. Concerning Ignorance: Pick any subject and you will find (as I have the physics professor) that most people don’t mind being ignorant. In fact, they prefer it. Fortunately, I’m not like most people.
