2. Tether has first mover advantage when it comes to stablecoins. And we know how huge and valuable first mover advantage is in crypto.

   They command a ton of volume. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that they are making money hand over fist so even if they don't back every tether 1:1 with dollars and they probably don't – As a company and first mover they are worth their marketcap and probably more.

   What I think is going to happen is most likely a reputable company with hundreds of billions of cash lying around trying to enter the crypto space with a sure thing, is probably going to offer to buy them out for some un Godly amount of money, like double their current market cap. And they are going to take it with a big smile on their face because they generated all that value for not a whole lot of money.

   I wouldn't worry about tether, especially now that they, bitcoin and Ethereum are intertwined. Institutional investors are piling in and they definitely know that if tether fails the whole market will crash. And that's why it will be an institution that's saves tether.
