In this video, I compare the investing strategy and historical performance of Malaysia’s top roboadvisors (Stashaway, Wahed Invest, MyTHEO, Raiz and Best Invest) to figure out which is the best. Robo advisors are perfect for beginners and seasoned investors alike, providing an easy way to automate and diversify your investments across multiple asset classes and geographical markets. But beware! Not all robo advisors are created equal – some have high fees, others have poor performance, so choose wisely!

Best roboadvisors:
Stashaway:
This is a referral link so we both get up to RM30,000 managed for free for 6 months!

Wahed Invest:
I don’t have referral links for Wahed, but you can look for referral link from others to get sign up rewards 😊

Mediocre roboadvisor:
MyTHEO:
MyTHEO is not terrible, but they do invest heavily in the Japanese market, which comes with risk of underperformance.

Poor roboadvisors (invest at our own risk!)
Best Invest:
Hiiiiigh fees, performance is inconsistent.

Raiz:
A lot of potential but terribly limited investment options. Funds available have poor performance.

I simulated back tested returns for each roboadvisor by taking all the individual fund allocations and compounded them together using a portfolio visualiser:

Notes:
– Roboadvisors adjust their portfolio allocation from time to time, this simulation ignores these adjustments and only looks at the backtested returns of their latest investment portfolio allocation
– Wahed Invest’s performance is not calculated the same way, it is taken directly from its website, because not all funds can be found on the portfolio visualiser database. Also, Wahed data is only reported up to September 2022. However,
– The numbers for Stashaway and MyTHEO were simulated using the same starting point as Wahed Invest, making cross comparison possible.
– Since some ETFs/funds only go back to 2014, the analysis starts in 2014.
