Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland is one of the world’s most culturally diverse cities with a food scene to match. Over the next few weeks we’ll be exploring Auckland’s food culture and showcasing the diversity in cuisine that can be experienced in Aotearoa New Zealand’s biggest city. In this video we take you into the kitchen of a restaurant serving up delicious Nepali street food, chow down on dishes that transport us right back to the streets of Indonesia and show you where to find one of Auckland’s tastiest sando. What we ate and where we ate it:

1. Momo and sekuwa at Tama Eatery, 4 Upper Queen Street, Auckland CBD, Auckland 1010. Open 5:00pm to 10:00pm Tuesday to Saturday.

2. Nasi kuning and bebek goreng at It’s Java, 16 Vinegar Lane, Grey Lynn, Auckland 1021. Open Tuesday to Thursday 12:00pm to 8:00pm and Friday to Sunday 10:00am to 9:00pm.

3. Katsu sando and beef sando at Young George, 86A Hendon Avenue, Mount Albert, Auckland 1025. Open 7:00am to 3:00pm Wednesday to Monday plus 4:30pm to 8:30pm on Thursday. Closed Tuesday.
