This is actually misinformation. Monocrop agriculture like corn and soy is what's destroying the planet. Regeneratively raised ruminant animals can actually be carbon negative. Rotating crops and allowing cattle to put nutrients back into the soil by naturally fertilizing the lands is the way to go. White Oak Pastures in GA is actually so eco-friendly they were deemed carbon negative.
The ecological footprint of monocrops like soybean for these plant burgers, are terrible on the planet. In fact, most of this misinformation is being funded by large conglomerates of corn/soybean.
garbage.
10:10 Kangaroo is unconventional animal to eat? Brother said, in Australia, they eat it regularly. Not beef.
Ironically Soil Experts say the only way to save TopSoil
Is to put Animals on it…
Soy destroys 5 tons of Topsoil per ton of Soy
Science, Try it…
This sounds amazing. I want some!
Gods I hope this becomes affordable and available soon!
I want to grow meat from my own cells and taste myself
"meat diets didn't become accessible until a 100 years ago" That's just wrong. We literally come from hunter/gatherers and meat is and has always been a staple of many populations around the world. Coastal communities are common mostly because of the importance of fish in diets. Other animals are a staple of many others diets and have been for thousands of years, such as the Inuit who subsist largely on the consumption of seals, whales, birds etc. You cherry picked one culture that was so twisted and broken that locals couldn't even consume what they themselves were growing.
I'm so down to try it. I think with enough time, it could be developed to the point where it tastes as good or even better than the real thing.
omg da puns
"Meat based diet didn't become accessible until about a hundred years ago when railroads and refrigeration allowed meat packets to go mainstream"
Yeah, you lose any credibility right there. This is mindbogglingly ignorant.
Animal based meats are not "an inefficient luxury". If it were truly inefficient they would cease to exist. Capitalism demands efficiency. Pretty sure Matt had decided on this issue.
Lab meat for president!
Dude, it needs stem cells?!? Those would have to be taken from embryos which is kinda fucked up if you ask me.
I thoroughly enjoy eating meat, but lab grown meats are beginning to look really appetising, the switch is going to be inevitable for everyone, took me a while to accept it.
are Meat free make from veg but taste like meat
If you were a good Christian you would know animals have no soul, so it's okay to eat them.
seems alright but doesn't meat have essential nutrients the human body needs
F**k yeah, I want it, can't wait.
So the poor cows won't be set free, they'll be stuck in a box, having biopsies now and then. Boooo! I mean, Mooooo!
Robot hoovers, so lazy. Get the broom out and start sweeping ;+}
Chickpea and lentil burgers for the win! 🙂
This is part of the Great Reset plan. I'm a long-term vegetarian but i'm also pro-choice.
Does anyone know what the intro music?
I’ve been vegetarian for more than half my 55yrs of age, I don’t crave meet & find the thought of it disgusting. However, this is great for people who love it but feel they would like to make a sustainable change. Great story!
Finally we can get rid of all those cows, sheep and chickens.
lab grown meat is fucking disgusting and sick
Sounds like they're growing scabs and not meat to me.
Title should be: “The Future Of Organ Failure, How This Mystery Substance Is Probably Bad To Eat More Than Twice”
Human are 200,000 years old farming is 12,000 years old I think we have been eating mostly meat for a while but I would try lab grown meat
A buddy of mine was a biology student and they had a guest at the university that taught them about their research into meat cloning.
They essentially got a tissue sample from a chicken and cloned it. Then, that meat was cooked into some nuggets and could be served for consumption.
When my friend and his class ate those nuggets… They had that very same chicken – that they were eating- walking around, clucking about, happy as can be an alive.
I thought that was a huge impact.
Duck fat with Wagyu meat
I will try some as soon as I can find out where to buy it. I'm also excited for the possibilities it brings to long term space exploration and colonization.
This will be huge I think especially for countries with not much usable land such as Japan. 80% of the country is not easily usable for living or agriculture due to the mountains
I've been fully behind lab grown meat for years now. (had I never eaten meat I would be vegetarian, but since I have eaten meat this is the next best option)
My dude. These puns.
I am not a big fan of meat but i am not wiling to entirely give up on it either but would i trade natural meat to lab grown? That's somethin i can only answer once i try it.
While the idea of lab-grown meat sounds like a fascinating solution, I still have one concern with how far this "cruelty free" topic can be extended.
If it can be considered ethical to consume cruelty-free "unconventional" meat, what's going to prevent a future with cruelty-free cannibalism?
While I do mean this as more of a satirical concern, I would like to know 😜
Both brands are so bad they belongs to the trash can. I thought for a minute and a half that you would have something valuable to add, I was wrong and disappointed.
If lab meats are actually resembling real meat I'm down. But if it ain't yet, don't force it.
I like the taste of Beyond burgers and would stop eating farmed meat except – the pricing is currently ridiculous in the UK – over twice the price of good quality farmed. On day 1, 2+ years ago I could accept that but not now.
As soon as lab meat is available at a reasonable cost (some premium is ok, but not extortion) I would drop farmed in an instant. I got used to the taste of plant based quickly and actually got to the point of preferring it.
Bring it on – will remove guilt over climate impact and especially the cruely of farming which is frankly indefensible – I am just too weak.
0:44.. so wrong and misleading
I don't understand people who have a aversion to lab grown meat/dairy. IMO this technology feels like a modern miracle.
This is fucking bullshit. Stupid ass fucks just screwing up the earth. Let the worthless people die
Won't they still have imputs
