You might remember a video on this channel from back in September called “Cardano & the Layerverse.” That video was about the idea that the Cardano baselayer, the L1, the mainnet, would always represent the Cardano root of trust while an arbitrary number of additional layers representing arbitrary programming paradigms & trade offs between scaling, decentralization, and security could & would be built on top of that baselayer. Today, the advent of EVM compatibility in Cardano also brought us the birth of that layerverse. But this…this will just be the first of many, many hungry layers that will happily gobble up the assets of other chains.

I have a question for everyone. I know milkomeda opens up doors for cardano. But what has milkomeda to offer to ETH if ETH has already got sidechains. They can use Polygon and others. It bridges Cardano and Milkomeda, yes, but how will ETH benefit from this. I could only see the defi apps benefiting from this if ETH users would like to farm on cardano. What do you think? Can anyone give me another view on this? Thanks

Cardano/SOL etc. will die to ETH. Let me explain:
Cardano and SOL are violating 1 or MORE aspects of the holy trinity of crypto for the sake of one side, scalability/speed of transactions. How can they accomplish this? By taking away from the other two sides of the trinity. Well then why doesn't ETH just fork and make those changes to fix their gas fees and speed? Ethereum is different because they are not willing to do what cardano/sol/eos/tron etc.. have done.. i.e. compromise their project from the start. They have increased their blocksize so drastically that the hardware requirements take away from both decentralization AND security aspects. Just look at SOL getting DDoS'd, or Cardano's MASSIVE, MASSIVE security/decentralization concerns.
Real ?…. If the base layer, Cardano, is decentralized but everything built on top of it is centralized, what difference does it make!? Think the internet, which is decentralized, but Google, FB, etc are all centralized and what we all use today! They have all the money and control. We don’t invest on the internet, just the companies that we use, layer 2’s!
Fantastic as always AOS.
Still amazes me that people would react this way to Charles, of all the leading figures in crypto he comes across very well, explains complex challenges in a simple way and advocates very eloquently for the concepts of decentralisation and fair access to financial systems. Although he quite rightly favours Cardano he's happy to accept the existence of other systems; the necessity of having a choice. Also he's not difficult to research, anyone can get a great inside track from the many videos on his channel.
from charles's perspective, he has a completely different view of what the blockchain trilemma is, inferring that he considers vitalik's version of the blockchain trilemma already solved by cardano…
History in the making… the maxis' tears already begin to taste so good… 😉
The Muesliswap team is still slightly under appreciated compared to Sundae and Minswap. They were the first Cardano dex, and now are first Cardano dex to allow cross chain trading. And now they have AMM farming and trading on Milkomeda. As far as I know they are the only Dex aggregator at the moment. Amazing what that small team has accomplished in just a few months with almost no bugs.

Luckily, any Cardano user who tries to use Milkomeda to go over to ETH, will be burned by fees and come running back, tail between legs.
Milkomeda is an ETH–>Cardano bridge. One way.
